National Mall & Historical Park

No trip to Washington, D.C. would be complete without commemorating our presidents, veterans, and of course, the United States of America! The National Mall offers walking and bike tours, as well as various “interpretive programs,” which are viewable on the park’s website under “Things to Do.” In addition, the park staff provides daily interpretive programs on the hour (from 10 am to 11 pm) at monuments such as the Lincoln Memorial, World War II Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and more. John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts

Visit the Kennedy Center to experience a spectacular musical, dance, or dramatic performance! The Center operates on a grand scale; it’s a memorial composed of multiple theaters to accommodate simultaneous productions. Food is available during the show intermissionsThe center also offers dining options with its Roof Terrace Restaurant and KC’s Café. While sightseeing in D.C., be sure to take advantage of the opportunity to visit the three houses of government! Tours of the White House, The Capitol and the Supreme Court are wonderful experiences. Learn about the history and inner workings of our nation’s headquarters through guided tours and visitor centers. Great Falls Park

Swap the hustle and bustle of the city with a little natural beauty by taking a trip to Great Falls! Located about 30 minutes outside of D.C., Great Falls is an 800-acre park on the Potomac River. A day spent at Great Falls can involve hiking, biking, kayaking, picnicking, and horseback riding. With numerous trails and breathtaking views, the park is popular with locals and tourists alike.
